Actor Vishal, who raises his voice for various social causes, has now endorsed the cause of suicide prevention among students. He has joined hands with The Narayanan Group for ‘The Disha Helpline’ Initiative, which is a toll free number for all students to help them to deal with their mental health issues.
In the awareness video, the actor says, “It’s shocking to hear the fact that every hour a child commits suicide in India due to psychological stress and depression. These are children in our neighbourhood who need care for a good and bright future. Disha Helpline is a toll free number by which professional help is given to all students who need it. Children usually don’t wish to vent out their emotional issues to parents due to certain barriers such as age and generation gap and many other factors. It’s advisable that by reaching the expert counsellors and mental health professionals, this crisis can be solved leading to a peaceful life and future of children.”
