Vivekh takes a dig at actresses
Ace comedian Vivekh, who has been missing in action for a long time, says that Kaashmora (where he essays Karthi’s dad) is his comeback film. Speaking at an event to promote the movie, Vivekh said, “As usual, I don’t have a jodi in the film. All my combos are with old ladies only (laughs). When the director said Nayanthara is the heroine, I was eager to share screen space with her. To my dismay, there’s not even a single combination scene with her.”
In continuation of his speech, he took a dig at actresses (or rather, at Nayanthara!) who do not turn up for the promos of their films — “These actresses cite one beautiful reason. They say sentimentally, it won’t work out for the film if they attend the promos.” With a pun, he added amidst applause, “If they give the same reason and let go of their last schedule of payments, it will be of great help to producers.”
When the video went viral however, Vivekh decided to clear the air saying, “An appeal to the media — I stated that heroines should attend promos. I didn’t pinpoint Nayan. I am a huge fan of hers. Please recall my tweets on Nayan.” (sic)
