Hrishikesh, who was seen as Dhanush’s brother in Velaiyilla Pattadhari, is looking forward to his debut as a hero with Rum, a heist-horror film. Directed by Sai Bharath, this film has Sanchita Shetty as the heroine and Anirudh Ravichander as the music director.
Speaking about his role, Hrishikesh says, “This is my first film as a hero — and my character is very subtle and nothing is over the top. Along with my friends, I figure out what happens in a haunted house and I try to plot revenge.” The actor reveals that the script-reading sessions that lasted for nearly three months, helped them a lot during shooting.
He further describes the shooting experience as a fun ride — “Sanchita is a senior in the industry and we got along really well. Working with Vivek sir was absolutely delightful as he would give suggestions whenever we were confused!”
Hrishikesh also admits that he is scared of ghosts in reality, and there were moments that gave him a chill! “I am really scared of ghosts and I don’t watch horror films. We shot the Peiyophobilia song at Padappai... it was terrifying and we pulled through because the whole unit was present there,” he recalls, grinning.
The actor also adds that his cousin — composer Anirudh Ravichander is the USP of the film. “It is because of him, that Rum has received recognition. I know how he works and his songs will definitely be chartbusters,” he concludes. Rum is gearing up for a November release....
