Imaikka Nodigal has a challenging screenplay
At a time when Nayanthara’s Kolamaavu Kokila is running successfully on screens, the makers of yet another movie Imaikka Nodigal featuring the female superstar, feel the public pulse is just right for the psycho thriller. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony fame, the multi-starrer has Atharvaa Murali, Nayan, Raashi Khanna and Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap in the lead with Vijay Sethupathi essaying the crucial role of Nayan’s pair in an extended cameo. Producer Jayakumar of Cameo Films is releasing the psycho thriller on August 30.
Speaking at the film’s promo event, Ajay said, “I narrated the script of Imakka Nodigal to Atharvaa five years back. Since I was a debutant then, I could not start the project. I strongly believe a film’s success relies on its convincing screenplay. It was a challenging task to pen the screenplay for a hardcore thriller like Imakka Nodigal. Hence, I insisted that I do the screenplay along with noted writer Pattukottai Prabhakar.”
Nayanthara who plays a CBI officer has done a few risky stunts without a body double, says an inside source. Cinematographer RD Rajshekar said, “I felt the movie has been written keeping Nayanthara in mind.”
Atharvaa, who essays the role of a doctor and brother of Nayan in the film, said, “It was a roller-coaster ride experience working in Imaikka Nodigal. Still, Ajay and I decided to make it without any compromises. There’s a cycle stunt for which the producer brought stunt specialists from Hong Kong. I can never forget the tough action sequences that I did for the film. IN’s album by Hiphop Aadhi is one of my favourites.”
