Kargil a solo show

The entire story unfolds in a car where the lead protagonist, essayed by actor and model Jishnu Menon, travels from Chennai to Bengaluru.

Tamil cinema is going through a sea change with a lot of young filmmakers trying their hands at experimental genres. One such film is Kargil, which has just one character appearing throughout the course of the two-hour film! The entire story unfolds in a car where the lead protagonist, essayed by actor and model Jishnu Menon, travels from Chennai to Bengaluru.

Shivaani Senthil, who writes and directs the movie, says, “Kargil is not a war between two countries, but between two hearts. A small conflict occurs between Jishnu and his lady love. The couple faces more problems from his boss, ex-girlfriend and a local guy. The complete movie takes place in a car and how he gets out of this predicament forms the crux.”

He adds, “Only Jishnu will appear on screen and the other characters in the movie will have telephonic conversations — and audiences can hear only their voices.” Ganesh Paramahamsa handles the camera work, and the film is produced by Subha Selvam, along with Hema. A few friends of the makers have also crowd-funded to support a good script.
