Idhu.. is a celebration of love: Pandiraj

...says national award-winning director Pandiraj, about the Simbu-Nayanthara starrer, being confident that anyone can relate to the film's story.

National award-winning filmmaker Pandiraj is a very relieved man these days! His much prolonged and awaited film, Idhu Namma Aalu, with Simbu and Nayanthara in the lead roles, is finally hitting the screens this Friday on 27th. Nevertheless, like Rajinikanth’s famous punch line ‘late-aa vandhaalum, latest varuven’ goes, people who have watched the sneak preview of the movie are raving about its making.

Talking to DC about the film, Pandiraj says, “So far, you have seen me handling children movies and films based on rural backdrops. This is my first attempt at a city slicker. It is a significant film in my career. INA is actually a celebration of love. The movie delves into the lives of those who are in love, pre and post-marriage love, and even love after breakup. Even the minute and nuanced expressions of a couple have been captured.”

Andrea plays Simbu’s ex-lover, and circumstances force Simbu to marry Nayan in the film. Adding further, the director reveals, “Lot of people ask me whether the film is based on a real-life romantic affair. In a way, I can say partly ‘yes’. All said and done, it is everyone’s love affair and anyone can relate to it at one point or the other.” (smiles)

Comedian Soori, who appears throughout the movie, is yet another hero, Pandiraj vouches. “Soori does not have a separate track and he traverses along with the main story. This will be a milestone film for him. Whenever he appears on screen, you are guaranteed gales of laughter. And not to forget, Santhanam has made a cameo in three scenes and the combo of both the comedians will bring the roof down.”

The peppy kutthu number, ‘Mama Waiting’ which features STR and Adah Sharma will be the highlight of the film. Jai also makes a guest appearance. Produced by T. Rajendhar, the film marks Kuralarasan’s entry as a composer in K’town.
