Chandini roped in for a period film
Chandini, who returned to K’town after a stint in Tollywood with the critically acclaimed movies Vil Ambu and Nayya Pudai, is all set with a period film titled Naan Avalai Sadhittha Podhu where she plays a rural belle sporting a new look. Ravichander, who did films like Maasaani, and is said to be inspired from a real life incident, is directing it. Santhosh of Kadhai Thiraikadhai Vasanam Iyakkam fame essays the lead protagonist.
“Naan Avalai… is set in 1996 and I am excited that I play a full-fledged heroine here. She is from a village near Mylaaduthurai and is an innocent girl. It is a highly performance-oriented role, thanks to my director who had faith in me,” Chandini quips. The film is meant for the international festival circuit, she adds.
About Santhosh she says, “He is very promising. We were supposed to team up for one of my movies, Thami, but it didn't work out.”
Chandini is also quite upbeat about her experimental role of an airhostess in her upcoming flick with Sibiraj, which sources say is tentatively titled Thanni Raja.
