What was to be a much-anticipated sequel, Vishal’s Sandakozhi 2 has been shelved — the actor took to Twitter to announce it. This news comes as a shock for the Kathakali actor’s fans. Lingusamy’s Sandakozhi, which starred Meera Jasmine as his love interest, in fact established Vishal as an action hero and is one of his biggest hits to date.
Earlier reports suggested that the movie was set to roll this month, and Lingusamy was supposed to direct the sequel too. Apart from announcing the dropping of the project, Vishal also expressed his concerns about filmmakers not being committed enough.
He wrote, “sad 2 c certain filmmakers lacking commitment twds projects. guess actors shd stick 2 actin n Dir s 2 directing. sandaikozhi 2 cancelled. GB (sic).”
Meanwhile, Vishal has wrapped up the shooting of his next film Marudhu, which is said to be a rural entertainer.
