Dhanush has unveiled the first song from Subramaniyam Siva’s to-be-released flick Vellai Yaanai, which revolves around Tanjore farmers and their predicament. Penned by Uma Devi, the song, which starts with the word Vennila, and is rendered by Vijay Naren and Sangeetha Karuppaiah to Santhosh Narayanan’s composition, is going viral.
Samuthirakani and Aathmiya play the lead pair in the film.
Siva who has made films like Thiruda Thirudi and Seedan with Dhanush, is returning to direction after a long gap. Says he, “The film, which is agriculture-based, addresses the pains of farmers. There’s no sermonizing, the subject is dealt with in a humorous manner. I felt no one except Samuthirakani would fit the role.”
Yogi Babu, S.S. Stanley, Ramadoss, Bava Chellathurai, Moorthy and Saranya Ravichandran are also part of the cast. AS
