Rajinikanth, Simran's second look from Petta goes viral
A new poster of Rajinikanth and Simran from Petta is going viral. While their first combo picture unveiled earlier showed them on a crowded street, in this one the duo is seen walking through dense woods smiling at each other. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha, Malavika Mohanan, Megha Akash and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by Karthi Subbaraj, this is the first time Anirudh Ravichandran has composed music for a Superstar movie.
Touted to be a commercial entertainer with mass elements and suspense, Rajinikanth will be reportedly seen in two avatars -a hostel warden and a gangster from Madurai in Petta. For some reason, he hides his identity and poses as a college warden in the film.
The film has been awarded U/A certification by the Censor Board. Though Karthik Subbaraj is tightlipped about the story, speculation ran high on social media that Pettais about the sensitive theme of honour killing. One may recall Karthik had dealt with Mercury poisoning in Kodaikanal in his earlier movie titled Mercury. It is learnt that Petta might also address a social problem.
The actor who recently left for the US for a holiday with family told reporters at the airport, “Expectations for Petta are high. I hope our expectations will be met.”
