Hip Hop Adhi's Saitji song in trouble
We had reported earlier that composer Hip Hop Adhi will be making his debut as an actor, director, screenplay writer and dialogue writer with his maiden venture, Meesaya Murukku. The music director has already released two songs from his film, which have received a great reception from the audience.
Out of the two songs, the first promo song, Saitji, became a viral hit and celebrities including director Shankar termed the song hilarious. However, the number didn’t go down well with certain sections of the audience and the team has had to remove it from YouTube! Speaking to DC, Adhi says, “Even though the song was well-received, our producer got a notice stating that the song hurts the sentiment of a particular community. But, we used the term Saitji as a common word. Because of the notice, we decided to delete it from YouTube.”
Clarifying whether the song would feature in the film, Adhi explains, “We still haven’t decided on that. This was just a promotional strategy for the film.” On the other hand, Sundar C, the producer, stated that he does not want to magnify the issue. Meesaya Murukku is a college love story starring Hip Hop Adhi and Aathmika in the lead. With the shoot done, the film is expected to be released in a couple of months.
