Director Soorajj S Kurup was in the news a couple of months ago for his debut film Thala Pola Varuma, which is a tribute to Ajith and his ardent fans. The interesting part of the film is that the director has roped in Tejas —who is a doppelganger of Ajith — to play the lead role.
Due to unforeseen incidents, the project had to be put on hold for a while. Speaking to DC, Soorajj says, “Our producer VK Saravanan passed away and we couldn’t continue the shoot. We are currently working out our plans and would resume our shoot soon. Meanwhile, I have got the opportunity to direct a Malayalam film titled 3 ½.
The movie has debutants Arumugam and Manju playing the hero and heroine. We have chosen this title because the lead characters are three and a half feet tall and work in a circus to make ends meet.”
Elaborating more on the storyline, he reveals, “They desire to lead a normal life and comes out of the circus to live in an apartment. That’s when they are framed for a murder that happens in the apartment. The movie is a suspense thriller that has Nedumudi Venu, Krishnakumar, Haresh Peradi, Kottayam Rashid, Ambika Mohan, Binu Jose, Biddiya and Neebha Bala.”
Soorajj also adds that he would start the second schedule of Thala Pola Varuma as soon as he completes the Malayalam film.
