After several names including those of Deepika Padukone, Trisha and Anjali were being speculated upon with regard to playing opposite Superstar Rajinikanth in his next in Karthik Subbaraj’s direction, the name of another yesteryear biggie has surfaced and it is that of Simran.
Rajini has been choosing scripts to suit his age and accordingly filmmakers opt only for mature heroines to play his pair. In Kaala, Easwari Rao will be seen opposite the superstar although Huma Quereshi will also be seen playing a 35-year-old lady as his romantic interest.
Anjali was evasive in her reply in an earlier interview when queried about her having a role in Karthik Subbaraj’s new film as she had worked with the latter in Iraivi. Sources reveal that she might be paired opposite Vijay Sethupathi, whose inclusion in the cast has already been made official by its makers Sun Pictures. Although Santhosh Narayanan composed music for Rajini in Kabali and for Karthik in Pizza, Anirudh Ravichander has been chosen to score the music.
One may recall Simran had signed on for Rajini’s sort of comeback blockbuster film Chandramukhi and she had even shot for a few days. She had to back out due to her reported pregnancy then and Jyothika had replaced her.
Karthik’s heroines will have a solid bearing in the script. Considering this, the buzz is that the performing actress that she is, the Kannathil Mutthamittal star won’t miss out the opportunity to share screen space with the Superstar once again.
