Veera, who started off as an assistant director to Kamal Haasan and Gautham Vasudev Menon, turned hero with Nadunisi Naaigal in the latter’s directorial. Since the movie received lot of flak, Veera’s act didn’t get noticed. After Rajathanthiram, he resurfaced and now has bagged a meaty role as the protagonist of a film Arasiyala Idhellam Sadharanam Appa, which is a famous punch line of veteran comedian Goundamani!
The film is directed by Avinash Hariharan who has many short films to his credit. An excited Veera says, “It is an out-and-out comedy film with the backdrop of political satire and I am trying out humour. I play a happy-go-lucky guy in the city.”
For his preparation, he says, “Nothing specific. But I took several reading sessions of the script, and will faithfully follow the director’s instructions.”
Ask him if the AD in him will come out while working, and he replies with a smile — “No, not at all. It will only create confusion.” Veera who has also wrapped up Rajathanthiram’s sequel, is eagerly awaiting it’s release later this year.
