Shivani debuts in Telugu remake of 2 States

She will be sharing screen space with none other than versatile Adivi Sesh for the rom-com drama, directed by Venkat Reddy.

She was to be launched in K'town. But now, Shivani, daughter of filmstar/politician couple Jeevitha and Dr Rajashekar, is to make her debut in a Tollywood movie.

She will be sharing screen space with none other than versatile Adivi Sesh for the rom-com drama, directed by Venkat Reddy, a former assistant of VV Vinayak. The untitled project is an official remake of the Bollywood blockbuster film 2 States in which she will be reprising Alia Bhatt's role in the Telugu version.

Jeevitha speaks to DC as to how and why they chose this script and how her daughter is preparing for the role. “Shivani was getting many offers from different languages. She is also pursuing medicine. We were just waiting for the right script and a good role. When this offer of a remake of 2 States came up from talented Venkat Reddy, I thought this is the right launch pad for her. The heroine plays a meaty and versatile character in it. Since the makers have bought the rights only for Telugu, this is to be made in Tollywood,” Jeevitha revealed. “I am also happy that she is debuting opposite Adivi Sesh, who is also a proven writer besides actor and choosy about his flicks.”

In her film career, Jeevitha was known for homely and performance-oriented roles. At a time when glamour rules the roost in south cinema too, what would be her advice to her daughter, we ask and she says, “Everything is important. As an actress she should try out roles, which require her to perform — action, comedy, glam, serious and experimental ones. My only advice to her is to be confident and professionally handle things as it comes.”
