Post her split with former husband Vijay, Amala Paul seems to be on a roll. She has been signing back-to-back films with leading actors in the industry. While the Thalaivaa actress gears up to shoot for Vetri Maaran’s gangster trilogy Vada Chennai, she has been roped in to play the lead roles in Susi Ganesan’s Thiruttu Payale 2 and Soundarya Rajinikanth’s VIP 2. Now, the latest project she has signed on for, is an untitled venture of Mundasupatti fame Ramkumar — a crime thriller, in which she is paired opposite Vishnu Vishal.
Director Ram Kumar reveals, “It is great to have a seasoned actress like Amala Paul on board. We needed a homely character to fit the role, and Amala was our best pick. The film will go on floors on November 29 in Chennai. Regarding the antagonist, it will mostly be a new face. I have etched his characterisation in a different manner, and will be a never-seen-before role in cinema.”
Vishnu Vishal plays a cop in this film, produced by Axess Film Factory. Music director Ghibran, cinematographer Shankar, art director Gopi and actors Kaali Venkat and Mundasupatti Ramadoss are other names part of this project.
