Drug abuse film from true life incidents
Rishi Rithivik of Attu fame who was last seen as a baddie in the recent release Ezhumin has bagged a solo hero role in a movie titled Marijuana. A film that is against drug abuse talks about how students and youngsters get addicted to drugs and abuse their bodies. Newcomer Asha Parthalom plays the female lead in the film which went on floors recently.
Director Anand, who had assisted in many small films, says that the mystery thriller is based on real life incidents that took place when he was in college nine years ago. “I did extensive research on the subject to get the hands-on information while working on the script.”
Rishi will be seen as a police officer while comedian Powerstar Srinivasan comes in a cameo appearance. Bala Rosaiah, a former assistant of cinematographer and actor Natraj, is cranking the camera. Karthick Guru, who had his tutelage in ARR’s Music School, is the composer.
