Trisha backs out of Saamy 2
Director Hari’s Saamy is one of the benchmark films when it comes to cop stories. Post Saamy, many directors came up with similar stories, but only a few could crack the formula and gave hit flicks. Thirteen years later, it was announced that director Hari would be helming a sequel to the blockbuster movie.
Produced by Shibu Thameens, the team had announced that Trisha and Keerthy Suresh would play the female leads alongside Vikram playing the hero. In sudden turn of events, Trisha took to Twitter to announce that she won’t be part of the sequel (titled Saamy Square) anymore. Her tweet read, “Due to creative differences,I have chosen to opt out of Saamy 2 . Wishing the team goodluck.” (sic)
When DC contacted Trisha’s mother Uma Krishnan to know more, she stated that she didn’t have anything else to add. “I can’t talk more about the reason why she backed out of the project. There was a difference of opinion. She has not shot any of her portions for the film,” she adds.
Earlier, we had reported that Trisha’s portions would be featured during the flashback. It was also widely reported that Keerthy Suresh had more screen space than Trisha in Saamy Square. While director Hari was busy with the composing sessions with Devi Sri Prasad, producer Shibu Thameens was unavailable for comment.
