MG Ramachandran's grandson to act in a film about jallikattu
Legendary actor MG Ramachandran’s grandson V Ramachandran was touted to make his debut in Kollywood a few years ago, and signed a couple of projects. Though his films are yet to see the light of the day, he has now gone ahead and finalised his next project which is titled — Whatsapp!
Actress Deeptii Mohan essays his pair in this realistic drama jointly produced by Shajina Shajin Movies and SPK Films. Whatsapp has story written and directed by Rakshit.
A source close to the team revealed the story of Whatsapp. The source adds, “The film is set in the backdrop of the jallikattu protests. A group of six youngsters from Alanganallur organise a protest against the MNC company that tries to ban the practice of jallikattu. While their protest in Alanganallur doesn’t receive attention, they decide to move it to Chennai — what happens then forms the crux.”
Shooting of Whatsapp will go on floors on November 15 in places like Ooty, Pollachhi, Munnar and many places in Chennai. The supporting cast of the film includes Anjal Mohan, Jeevitha, Arjun, Shankar Vijay, Rakshitha and Kadhal Sukumar.
