Actor Kamal Hassan credits legendary director K. Balachander for making him the star he is today.

Kamal Haasan, who was recently seen in Vishwaroopam 2, is a versatile star. The actor owes much of his success and stardom to director K. Balachander.
Kamal recalls his bond with the director and says, “I received great advice from a person who didn’t respect stars at all. Mr Balachander would say 'if you are going to be a star then better be prepared for that'.”
Meanwhile, Kamal is looking forward to Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, in which he plays a dwarf. Kamal had played a similar role earlier in Appu Raja.
He says, “I am sure he has a great plan in place as he has invested in it. He has put his money where his mouth. That’s commendable. He is a great actor and I am looking forward to watching it.”
