Kushi Pair Vijay-Jyotika to Reunite For This Movie

Thalapathy Vijay and Jyothika are widely regarded as one of the most beloved on-screen pairs in the film industry. Their successful collaborations in blockbuster films like Kushi and Thirumalai have left an indelible mark on fans.

After a brief hiatus, Vijay recently announced his next project, tentatively titled Thalapathy68, in which he will be teaming up with director Venkat Prabhu. Excitingly, the latest reports suggest that Venkat Prabhu is eager to cast Jyothika as the female lead in the film. It's rumored that she has heard the script and given her approval, although there's no official confirmation yet. This news has generated significant buzz among fans, who are eagerly awaiting the potential reunion of this beloved on-screen pair after two decades.

The chemistry between Vijay and Jyothika in their previous films, such as Kushi and Thirumalai, drove fans wild with excitement. If these reports turn out to be true, their 20-year reunion would undoubtedly be a delightful treat for fans.

As for Thalapathy68, the project is currently in its initial stages. Venkat Prabhu is meticulously crafting the script, having reportedly impressed Vijay with just a single-line concept. He is also in the process of finalizing the rest of the cast and crew. In addition to Jyothika, there are speculations that the versatile SJ Suryah might take on the role of the antagonist in the film. The filming of Thalapathy68 is expected to commence once Vijay wraps up shooting for Lokesh Kangaraj's Leo.

Presently, Thalapathy Vijay is busy shooting for his highly anticipated film Leo. Notably, a massive set has been erected at Chennai's Film City for the film's introductory song. Leo features Trisha Krishnan as the female lead, marking her reunion with Vijay after 15 years. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, and others. The release date for Leo is set for October 19 this year, with Anirudh Ravichander composing both the songs and the original score.

Meanwhile, Jyothika's upcoming projects include a collaboration with Malayalam cinema's megastar Mammootty in Kaathal: The Core. She is also set to make her Bollywood comeback alongside Rajkummar Rao in "Sri." Additionally, she is part of Ajay Devgn's supernatural thriller, co-starring R Madhavan—a significant return to Bollywood after 25 years.

These developments promise an exciting future for both Thalapathy Vijay and Jyothika, who continue to captivate audiences with their remarkable talents and on-screen presence.
