Radha Mohan who has worked with Jyothika for the second time on their upcoming film Kaatrin Mozhi, a Tamil remake of the B-town hit Tumhari Sulu, says that his experience this time around has been very different. “When I was working with her on Mozhi, Jyothika was someone who never uttered a word, and yet managed to convey her emotions through her eyes. During the making of Kaatrin Mozhi, she was just the opposite, she was talkative!” the filmmaker says.
He also reveals that it was Jo who wanted him to direct the remake. “One day, Jyothika called me up, asked me if I had watched the Hindi film Tumhari Sulu, and suggested that I should remake it. I watched the film and felt the same way. That’s how it started,” he says.
He adds that he’s tweaked the film to suit local tastes. “Making a film exactly like the original version isn’t a big deal. But we have made so many changes to suit the culture and lifestyle over here. We have included some new characters, so the film will offer a fresh experience to the audience.”
Vidhaarth, who plays the role of Jyothika’s husband in the film, says, “The film showcases the bonding, the emotions, and the understanding between a married couple. I haven’t played such a character until now. And I’m confident that this role will be received well by the masses.”
