Rajinikanth starrer Kabali earns Rs 250 crore in India?

The Tamil language film, which released worldwide on Friday amid much fan frenzy, has earned Rs 100 crore from theatres in Tamil Nadu itself.

Chennai: Rajinikanth’s Kabali opened to an amazing start at the box office on Friday and smashed BO records with its collections. On it’s first day, the film earned Rs. 42 crore approximately, collecting Rs. 21. 5 crore in Tamil Nadu itself.

The film will mostly likely do a good business over the weekend and is expected to mint over Rs. 120 crore. Rajinikanth’s ‘Kabali’ marvelled everyone by smashing Salman Khan starrer ‘Sultan’s first day BO record, which collected Rs. 36.54 crore on Friday.

However, film’s producer S Thanu has completely different BO numbers to show, which comes out as a shocking news. The makers claim that ‘Kabali’ has earned Rs 250 crore on its first day itself.

Makers claim that the Tamil language film, which released worldwide on Friday amid much fan frenzy, has earned Rs 100 crore from theatres in Tamil Nadu itself. “In India, the film has earned Rs 250 crore, which includes Rs 100 crore from Tamil Nadu and Rs 150 crore from places outside the state in India,” read a statement from the makers.

Kabali was released in approximately 8,000-10,000 screens all over the world, which includes 480 screens in the US, 490 in Malaysia and above 500 in Gulf countries.
