Madhi and Arun Vijay seem to have got their wires crossed

Arun Vijay took to Instagram and asked his fans to wait for an official announcement from him about the project

Is there some trouble brewing between Madhi and Arun Vijay? That’s the inference being drawn from a recent announcement by Madhi, who is producing Arun Vijay's upcoming flick Boxer, and a post seemingly in response to that, by Arun on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Madhi had issued a press note saying he would don the role of antagonist to Arun Vijay in the film, instead of Anurag Kashyap, who was being considered. He revealed that though he had apprehensions initially, he had been convinced by director Vivek to take on the role.

Boxer, which had gone on the floors with much fanfare, features Arun Vijay with different looks, while Ritika Singh plays his pair.

Madhi also said in the press note that he would not face the protagonist within the boxing ring, but that his character would pose a major block to the lead actor, preventing him from achieving his goal.

Madhi revealed that the first schedule of Boxer was over as planned, and since Arun Vijay had told him that he needed time to shed and gain weight for the different looks he had to sport, the shooting would resume once the Covid-19 situation eases.

However, Arun Vijay took to Instagram and asked his fans to wait for an official announcement from him about the project.

He wrote, “Hi everyone, A lot of you have been asking me about my film #BOXER for which I am equally excited as you all… I had been working very hard to prepare myself for the said project, but have not started full-fledged filming yet. As this movie requires a lot of effort & commitment both physically and mentally, it has to be worked on a time frame, which can only be done with clarity from the production house. So kindly wait for an official update from my side regarding the project.”

The actor has a bunch of projects including Agni Siragugal, Sinam, Zindabaad with Arivazhagan and also, reportedly, a movie with Mysskin.
