Superstar praises Vairumuthu

Rajini was speaking at the audio launch of the Suriya-starrer Kaappan.

Superstar Rajinikanth was all praise for lyricist Vairamuthu. He said, “After reading the book ‘Tamizhaattru Padai,’ my respect for Vairamuthu has gone up much more. It has all information about the ancient language Tamil.” Rajini was speaking at the audio launch of the Suriya-starrer Kaappan.

Talking about Kaapaan’s director KV Anand, he said, “I have known KV Anand’s abilities from the time he worked as a cinematographer of Sivaji. Director Shankar used to tell me that KV Anand is perfect in judgment of scripts and after hearing the script of Sivaji, he immediately said that it would be a winner. I was supposed to work with KV Anand earlier, and it was a terrific script. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for some reasons.”

Spilling the beans on his upcoming cop drama flick Darbar, Rajini said, “Murugadoss is making it in such a way that there can never be a film made like Darbar in my career.”

On Mohanlal, he said. “He is the most natural actor in Indian film industry and his presence is a gift for the film.” The Petta star also wished Kamal Haasan for his Indian 2 and said it would definitely be a huge hit. He also revealed that he is eagerly looking forward to Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan.

Actor Suriya started his speech addressing his fans, who always stand with him through thick and thin, as ‘Anbaana Thambi Thangaigale’. He said, “Let us not speak about anything outside Kaappaan and not do anything for the sake of publicity. KV Anand is a workaholic. Ayan took me to next stage in my career. Kaappaan is meaningful film and will satisfy all types of audiences.”

He added, “I admire Shankar sir’s works. He is one director who’s able to attract Pan-Indian audiences beyond language barriers and succeeds greatly.”

While Sayyeshaa plays Suriya’s pair in the film, her husband Arya also essays a crucial role in it. In a lighter vein, Suriya said, “It was very difficult for me to romance Sayeeshaa in front of Arya. I wish the couple a happy married life.”

Mohanlal, who plays Prime Minister in Kaapaan was all praise for Suriya. “Suriya is my darling. In my 40 years of film career, I have not seen a dedicated and passionate actor like Suriya.”

Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, Kaapaan, where Suriya portrays the role of a first-rank SPG (Special Protection Group) officer has music by Harris Jayaraj.
