Producer Gnanavel Raja who has roped in Simbu and Gautham Karthik for a multi-starrer action suspense thriller denies that it is a remake of Kannada film Mufti, as a few media reports claimed. Sandalwood filmmaker Narthan debuts in Tamil.
Says Gnanavel, “I chose Narthan after I loved his work in Mufti. I had asked him for a script for Suriya sir earlier. Later, he came out with yet another new script, which commanded multi stars. He did suggest Simbu for one of the leads and later Gautham Karthik was roped in. The film has two more big stars and talks are on with a few”.
A mega budget film, it has Madhan Karky penning the dialogues and Naveen behind the camera. The movie will be shot in Neyveli and Thoothukudi.
While he said STR would be seen in a role with negative shades, he was not forthcoming about the female leads. Insiders reveal STR has shed oodles of weight and looks fit but does not have a pair in the movie.
