Though bilinguals often get released simultaneously, remakes are normally spaced and released after a reasonable gap. But, for the first time — both versions of the film are set to release on the same day! Both the Hindi and Tamil flicks; Nil Battey Sanatta and Amma Kanakku will hit the marquee together, on the exact same day of April 22.
Interestingly, it is a movie with the same story in two different languages, with a different set of actors, each adapted to suit the local flavour. Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush have unveiled the first looks of the Hindi and Tamil versions respectively.
While Swara Bhaskar and Ratna Pathak play the leads in the Bollywood version, Dhanush has roped in Amala Paul and veteran Revathy for Amma Kanakku.
Sources indicate that after discussing this with Dhanush, who coproduces AK, producer Anand L Rai came up with the proposal of releasing both at the same time.
