Farming, family values stressed in Kadai Kutty Singham
After the release of Karthi’s Kadai Kutty Singham (last boy in the family) where the actor plays a rich farmer, many educated youth may come forward to take up agriculture as their profession”, claims a close source to the movie. Directed national award winning filmmaker Pandiraj, the film stars Sayeesha Saighal, Priya Bhavani Shankar of Meyaadha Maan fame and Arthana Binu, who made a notable debut in Kani’s Thondan, are the three lead ladies.
They also say, “Just as people proudly use their educational qualifications like engineer, doctor before or after their names, Karthi proudly calls himself a farmer and sticks ‘vivsayi’ above his mobike number plate. Pandiraj has asserted the importance of farming and the need for youngsters to take it up as their profession.”
People may have thought we have kept this title because Karthi is the younger brother of Suriya. It is not so, the makers clarify, justifying that “in the film Karthi has five elder sisters played by actresses Yuvarani, Mounika, Deepa,, Jeevitha and Indhumathi and he happens to be the youngest and last in the family.” When Suriya initially heard the story, he remarked that he was hearing a story hailing family values and relationships after a long gap. While Imman scores the music, the film, produced by 2D Entertainment, has ace Velraj behind the camera.
