Thirumanam reflects life of a commoner: Cheran

The film reflects the life of common people and how money plays an important role and how shortage of it affects their life, says Cheran.

“I don’t like Rajinikanth’s style, but I like him as an actor, which I saw in films directed by ace Mahendran,” remarked actor and filmmaker Cheran. The stalwart was present at the audio launch of his upcoming film Thirumanam. The Autograph director said, “Watching Mahendran sir’s films like Udhiri Pookal and Mullum Malarum (with Rajini in the lead), I get flabbergasted with the way he conceives the scenes in a nuanced manner.”

Thirumanam has actress Sukanya back on silver screen after a hiatus, Umapathy and Kavya as the young pair and Jayaprakash and Thambi Ramaiah. Rajesh Yadav cranks the camera and Siddharth Vipin composes the music.

The film reflects the life of common people and how money plays an important role and how shortage of it affects their life, says Cheran. The story is about a brother played by Cheran and the struggles he encounters to get his sister (Kavya) married off.

A host of veteran and young filmmakers including KS Ravikumar, Bharathiraja, Mahendran, Maari Selvaraj, Lenin Bharathy, Arunraja Kamaraj, Karthik Thangavel were part of the event. Vairamuthu was also present.
