After playing a police officer in the hit film Siruthai, Karthi will once ageing sport the khaki in his upcoming film, which is interestingly titled Dheeran Adhigaram Ondru. While Rakul Preet will be romancing Karthi, Vinoth of Sathuranga Vettai fame directs the thriller. Speaking to DC, SR Prabhu, one of the producers of Dheeran… says, “It is not the regular police versus villain type story. The film is based on a real-life incident.”
Why the title, we ask? “Dheeran is the name of Karthi’s character, and he is a straightforward police officer. He would go undercover at times for his investigations,” Prabhu explains and reveals, “Karthi has already shed down several kilos for Mani sir’s Kaatru Veliyidai, and is looking trim and fit. He will maintain the same physique and will sport a normal moustache.” The film will go on floors in the first week of January 2017 in Chennai. Currently, Karthi is abroad, shooting for Mani’s flick.
