Simran and Trisha had been the frontrunners for Superstar Rajinikanth’s next under Karthik Subburaj direction. DC had broken this news while revealing that the two leading ladies of Tamil cinema had never been ,paired with Rajini in any of his movies and that a breakthrough was coming for both actresses in the yet to be titled film.
Simran’s role in the movie was confirmed when Sun Pictures officially announced her inclusion recently. The Kannathil Mutthamittal actress had once missed an opportunity to play opposite Rajini in Chandramukhi. In her first ever movie with Rajini, she has already completed a shooting schedule with the superstar in Dehradun.
On Monday, the filmmakers also confirmed the news about the inclusion of Trisha in their project with the Superstar. In her career, Trisha has been paired with almost all the biggies in Tamil and Telugu films save Rajinikanth. The actress is still an active A-lister of K’town and she gets an opportunity to make her presence felt in a Rajini film, that too as a heroine who will be romancing him.
Speculation was in the air for quite a while as to what character Trisha would be playing in the movie. We heard that having accepted the film, the VTV star would not settle for anything less than essaying Superstar’s romantic interest. Given the fact that Karthik Subbaraj’s heroines are not archetypical, Trisha will also be seen in an unconventional role, an insider reveals.
The film also features Vijay Sethupathy as the powerful antagonist, Megha Akash, Malavika Mohanan, Bobby Simha and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. While Anirudhu teams up with Rajini for the first time, Tirru is the one behind the camera.
