Museum set for Thittam Pottu...

Remiyan, who is also working in Kreshna's Pandigai, added that he had to work on stricter deadlines.

Art director Remiyan, who was missing from Kollywood for years, is back again with his exquisite skill for debutant director Sudhar’s Thittam Pottu Thirudara Kootam starring Kayal Chandran, Satna Titus, and Parthiepan in pivotal roles.

Remiyan, who is known for his work in Ambuli 3D has designed a huge museum set of 15,000 square feet for this film at the cost of approximately Rs 30 lakhs.

Elaborating, he added, “Since TPTK is a heist film, the director has set a fight scene at a museum. So, when Sudhar approached me, he requested to re-create the Egmore museum. But, I insisted that re-creating a museum would be plagiarism. So, I have created this set at Mani Mahal in Chennai with materials like thermocol, iron and plaster of Paris.”

Remiyan, who is also working in Kreshna’s Pandigai, added that he had to work on stricter deadlines. “In just three days, with over 150 people working on it, we finished the entire set. I did not even have any time to create a rough sketch of what the museum would look like,” he stated.

The art director also seems to have high regard for the sculptures in India, as he insisted that the director not choreograph a fight scene near the aimpon (panchaloha) sculptures. “These idols have a rich history and we have to give them the respect they need,” he concludes with a smile.
