Thaman pins hope on Puyalaa Kilambi Varom
Veteran late cinematographer and filmmaker Balu Mahendra’s former assistant G. Arumugam, turns independent with a movie titled Puyalaa Kilambi Varom. Thaman and Madhusri play the lead pair. Set in Madurai, the film has an unusual theme and Thaman, who is yet to see a big hit, hopes that PKV would do the necessary trick as he has a meaty role to enact.
Talking about the film, Arumugam, who has also directed short films, says, “The story, which is about a few educated youngsters, unfolds in Madurai. The film will propagate the message: ‘Do not take unassuming and serious people for granted in life’. It is not our right to underestimate them. If triggered, they can hit back badly and that’s the crux of the film.” Singam Puli, Thirumuugan, Manohar and Risha play the supporting cast.
