Actor-turned-politician Karthik, who was seen in supporting roles like Dhanush’s Anegan and Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Kootam, in his second innings has been roped in for a movie as the lead hero. Titled Thee Ivan, it has Sukanya, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Arthika among others as female leads and is directed by Jayamurugan, who did films like Roja Malare and Adada Enna Azhagu
Talking about the film, Jayamurugan says: “The movie is set in Kovai and is about the emotional bond between a brother and sister. Karthik essays the brother’s role and plays a farmer in the film. Abhitha of Sethu fame, who vanished after acting in few movies, is back, playing Karthik’s sister. Despite being busy with his political commitments, Karthik agreed to comeon board for Thee Ivan, being floored by the content. It will be a significant film in his career.”
John Vijay, newcomer Suman, Singam Puli, Ashmitha and Ilavarasu are part of the supporting cast. The director has also taken on the onus of music direction and is penning the lyrics.
