On Thursday, the multi-tasking personality T. Rajhendar announced he would be contesting for the first time in the Chennai-Chengalpet -Kanchipuram-Thiruvallur Tamil Film Distributors Association elections for the post of president, to be held on Dec. 22. Mannan of Mannan Films will contest for Secretary.
Speaking to the media, TR said, “Though I am not keen on contesting, a producer and distributor like Mannan wants me to compete in the forthcoming elections for distributors.” Several supporters of TR team including Pannirselvam were present at the event.
Sources say TR will lock horns with Arulpathi, who has been the president of the association for several terms, although an official announcement is yet to be made by the opposition team. One can expect high drama in the coming days.
The association has about 530 members and the elections are held once in two years.
