It is a rarity in Tamil cinema for an actresses to make it big on silver screen and shine in supporting roles. Now it looks like telly heroine Priya Bhavani Shankar of Kalyanam Mudhal Kadhal Varai fame is pushing the boundaries. She has made an impressive debut as the lead actress in the recent Deepavali release Meyadha Maan alongside Vaibhav — and now we hear that she has been roped in as one of the leads in Karthi’s upcoming flick directed by Pandiraj!
An unit source reveals that it is indeed true that the makers have approached Priya for a crucial role in the untitled movie. The source adds that there are three ladies in the movie and Sayyeshaa in all probability would romance Karthi in the film, which is touted to be an action romantic story set in a rural backdrop. One may recall Sayyeshaa was earlier brought on board for Karthi-Vishal starrer Karuppu Raja Vellai Raja and even an announcement was made. Later, the project got shelved due to financial reasons. Talks are also on with Anupama Parameswaran for the third character. Interestingly, Karthi’s elder brother Suriya bankrolls the project under his home banner 2D Entertainment. Karthi is presently busy wrapping up his action thriller Dheeran Adhigaaram Ondru.
