Director defends anti-GST scenes in Vijay's film

'People are appreciating those scenes in the film because it reflects their sentiments', said Ranjith.

MADURAI: 'Kabaali' director Pa Ranjith on Friday said scenes against GST in the Vijay-starred film 'Mersal' which has irked the BJP unit in Tamil Nadu, has only reflected the opinion of the people. "People are appreciating those scenes in the film because it reflects their sentiments," said Ranjith when reporters asked about the BJP Tamil Nadu unit president, Dr Tamizhisai Soundararajan's demand for the removal of those scenes from the film.

Ranjith was made as reception committee president of Dalit Oppression Liberation Front second national conference scheduled to be organised by Untouchability Eradication Front at Madurai for three days from November 5. Briefing the reporters about the importance of the conference, he said that activists and experts gathered from various part of the country would discuss on issues affecting Dalit communities' inlcuding reservation, NEET and other issues. To a query, he said his second movie with Rajinikanth, 'Kaala', would be released next April.
