Lavanya Tripathi lands in trouble
Actress Lavanya Tripathi was recently in the news for opting out of two films — director Chandramouli’s 100% Kadhal in Tamil and a Telugu flick produced by Bunny Vasu with Vijay Deverakonda in the lead. However, her decision of backing out of these two projects has created a stir.
Director Chandramouli, who is helming 100% Kadhal (a Tamil remake of Telugu flick 100% Love) has filed a complaint against the actress with the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce. Speaking to DC, Chandramouli says, “It was unprofessional and unethical of Lavanya to have quit the project without citing proper reasons. We were supposed to have begun shooting in London and because of her untimely departure, we have incurred huge loss. The Chamber has asked a reply from both the sides. If they don’t take appropriate action, we will elevate this issue further by taking a different course of action.”
Reacting to a query whether there was any miscommunication between the Tamil and Telugu filmmakers, he reveals, “That’s mere speculation! In fact, we didn’t approach them and neither did they. For some reason, Lavanya wanted to quit our film and she did without considering our situation. The Telugu makers were kind enough to understand our plight as well.”
About the status of the film, he quips, “The film starring GV Prakash and Shalini Pandey will commence in India on October 11. We had plans to shoot a major portion in London, but at this moment, we will helm portions in our country. We also have plans to shoot some portions in London at a later stage.”
