Director Priyadarshan’s ambitious project Sila Samayangalil starring Prakash Raj, Ashok Selvan, and Sriya Reddy is a 92-minute movie that will raise awareness about AIDS. It focuses on eight characters from different walks of life, who volunteer their blood samples for an AIDS test. Produced by Prabhudeva Studios, this film has music scored by Ilaiyaraaja.

This social drama has now been selected by the Golden Globes for a premiere on October 6 at the Real D Screening Room in Los Angeles! Talking about this achievement, Prabhudeva says, “My hearty congratulations to the entire crew. It is a proud moment for me, being associated with an internationally-recognised film. I signed this film as my first production venture through director Vijay. In fact, he, along with Isari Ganesh, brought in the funds for this movie.”

When asked if Sila Samayangalil would have a theatrical release soon, he reveals, “For now, we have to abide by the rules of the Golden Globes committee. Once the screening in LA is over, we will plan the theatrical release.”
With this honour, Sila Samayangalil has become the first Tamil film to make it to the prestigious Golden Globes. Sharing his excitement, Ashok Selvan explains, “I play Balamurugan, a pharmacist, in the film. It feels great and it is a big thing for an actor like me who is still finding a place in the industry. ”
