Abhishek bags solo hero role

Saravanan, who hits the bullseye with his menacing act, will be seen in a crucial role.

Abhishek Vinod, who started with a notable role in Kamal’s Papanasam and went on to do characters with grey shades in big films like Sketch, has bagged a solo hero subject flick titled Thandagan. And he has two heroines Mano Chithra and Anju Krishna for company.

Speaking to DC, director Mahendran says, “Thandagan’s role has been designed after the well-known demon character in Ramayana. In folklore, he would often trouble the rishis and here in the film, Thandagan with a devilish behaviour streak creates havoc in the lives of people.

How the hero who plays a cop handles the situation and restores peace in the society forms the rest and is narrated in a quirky screenplay.”

Though a complicated knot, the director has unfastened it with clean narration. Of course, there are lots of twists and turns, an inside source tells us. Ask the director as to who plays the intimidating Thandagan and he replies. ‘That’s suspense. Till the end, no one can guess who is instilling the fear factor in the people’s minds. Only in the pre-climax portion he or she is revealed.”

Saravanan, who hits the bullseye with his menacing act, will be seen in a crucial role. ‘Supergood’ Subramani, Adhav, Ram and Veera play supporting roles.
