A film on women empowerment

New girl Anjithasri plays the lead role in the film.

M’town filmmakers migrating to Tamil don’t nake for a new phenomenon, and the latest one to join the list is Madhu G Kamalam, who makes his foray with a film Idhu En Kadhal Putthagam.

Speaking to DC, Madhu says, "The film talks about importance of girls’ education. The story takes place in an interior village in Tamil Nadu, where the Panchayat head strongly believes that women need not be educated and they are meant only for rearing kids, cooking food and taking care of the family. On the contrary, his only daughter wants to study and come up in life. She opposes her dad and refuses to get hitched. The repercussions she faces forms the rest of the film. There’s a good message on women empowerment.”

New girl Anjithasri plays the lead role in the film. The makers claim that music plays an important role in the movie. Vaikkam Vijayalakshmi has sung one song for the film.
