Sri Reddy a Chennaiite now

No security in my life in Telengana and hence relocated, says controversial Telugu star.

Tollywood actress Sri Reddy, who created a huge buzz in talking boldly about the existence of the casting couch and dragging many T’town personalities in the sex racket controversy SriLeaks, has ultimately achieved for what she was reportedly fighting for — a film chance. She has bagged a Tamil film titled Reddy Diary.

The film being produced by Chitthirai Selvan and Ravidevan has Sri Reddy playing the central character and chronicles the struggle an aspiring actress in the film industry. Apparently, the makers are taking a leaf out of Ms Reddy’s real life journey and the men (film personalities) who ‘used’ her on the pretext of giving an opportunity in their movies.

Announcing this in the city, Sri Reddy said she has moved out of Hyderabad and settled in Chennai. DC caught up with her for a quick chat. Ask her why she has taken refuge in Chennai, and she shoots back. “I don’t feel secure in Telengana and I don’t want to live among animals. The Telugu film industry is controlled by few families like Suresh Babu (Rama Naidu son), Chiranjeevi family (Pawan Kalyan) and I know I will not get justice from MAA (Movie Artistes Association). They do not want to take up my issue and support me. They banned me at one point of time. After National Human Rights commission (NHRC) intervened, they lifted my ban. There is a threat to my life in in Hyderabad.”

“Tamil people cried when I cried. They have understood my problem and many have said they would support me in crisis. Hence I am looking out for a house for rent in the city and stay back here,” she says.

When probed if her film would have a smooth release considering it would again expose film actors, she says, “If any one dares to create havoc for my film release, they would face dire consequences.”

She requests Nadigar Sangam to intervene and help her to get justice in the cases relating to Tamil actors like Lawrence and others. “I have been trying to reach Vishal garu many times, but in vain! I have full evidence to prove my side. Hope the association would understand my plight and do the needful”.

Now that that she has got some respite and signed two more flicks besides Reddy Diary, will she stop her SriLeaks videos? She retorts — “No! It will continue if people try to misbehave with me. I am not doing it for the heck of ii and it will be a lesson for girls in future to be cautious.”

The dusky girl says that former actress and CM of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalaithaa is her role model. “I like her personality and her grittiness in handling issues. I may enter politics if the opportunity knocks,” she says even as she signs off with a smile at the Press Club.
