Lakshmi will appeal to all classes: Prabhu Deva
A promo-launch launch event was recently held for upcoming dance film Lakshmi, which features Prabhu Deva, Aishwarya Rajesh, child artiste Ditya and Salman Yusuf Khan.
Speaking at the event, Prabhu promised that the film had something for everyone. “When Vijay said that he wanted to make a dance film, I told him that we should raise the bar and make a film which appeals to all classes. He has done a great job and I am confident that everyone will love this film as it has an emotional premise,” he said.
Heaping praise on Ditya, he said, “Given a chance, Ditya would easily have overshadowed us on screen. She is such a talented genius.”
The actor-choreographer-filmmaker also made it official that he would be teaming up with filmmaker Vijay for the third time to make Devi(l) 2.
When it was his turn to speak, Vijay couldn’t stop gushing about his lead actor, “Prabhu Deva sir is more like an elder brother to me. Initially, I felt the pressure of making a substantial film about dance. But, with Prabhu beside me, everything went smoothly, without any hiccups. He is a very positive person and we could feel that vibe during the shoot,” he said. Like Prabhu, he also praised Ditya, saying, ‘Undoubtedly, she is the show-stealer.’
Aishwarya Rajesh, who’s currently running on a high with multiple films in her kitty, said, “I was reluctant to accept the role initially. But after hearing the script, I couldn’t say no.” Music for the film has been composed by Sam CS.
