A welcome move by Ajith Kumar
The online hooliganism of the fans of K’town stars is at its peak in recent days. Recently, a Chennai-based journalist was harassed by people, who called themselves Vijay fans for her comments on Vijay’s film Sura. Later, Vijay addressed the issue with a press release condemning the actions and stated that everyone is entitled to have an opinion in the country.
Now, Ajith Kumar has voluntarily come forward to protest against such online harassment. The lawyers of Vedalam actor have released a press statement which read, “There are a few unauthorised self-proclaimed individuals, groups and associations, passing off their personal views and opinions on social and political issues under the guise and likeness of our client, through the unauthorised use of our client’s name and image (sic).”
Further he has also apologised for earlier victims of such behaviour of such self-proclaimed fans —“While it is important to identify such miscreants to be held accountable, our client unconditionally apologises for any hurt or harm that this may have caused knowingly or unknowingly (sic).”
This welcome gesture by the actor has moved many people in the industry and common people and they have praised the actor for coming out and doing the right thing.
On the work front, Thala’s Vivegam, which has created a huge expectation, is slated to hit the screens on August 24.
