CV Kumar, the producer who introduced many GenY filmmakers who came out with out-of-box themes like Pizza, Soodhu Kavvum etc turned director with the sci-fi film Maayavan last year. He returns to wielding the megaphone now in a gangster movie titled Gangs of Madras. Set in North Chennai, it looks like the film has all new faces in the lead with seasoned actors like Daniel Balaji, Bhagavathi Perumal and Kalaiyarasan also playing crucial roles. Debutant Hari Dafusia is composing music for Gangs of Madras, a gangster film loosely based on a real life female gangster. Karthik Kumar is behind the camera.
