Jayanth's Munthal finally hits theaters

A travel story shot in seven countries and 49 locations, it will be a visual treat for the audiences, Jayanth claims.

Munthal was another film released along with Prabhu Deva's Mercury on Friday after the long film strike came to an end. Sources say that since there were not many competitors, the makers of the small budget movie could release it in decent number of screens.

Jayanth, who has done stunt choreography for more than 250 flicks, directs the film. A travel story shot in seven countries and 49 locations, it will be a visual treat for the audiences, Jayanth claims.

“It is an action film based on extensive research, and there's a social message in it. I am introducing Appu Krishna as the hero. Direction was my long time dream, which has finally come true today,” he says.

The hero goes in search of a formula written on palm leaves, which cures cancer. A selfish gang also chases the same formula for their gain. How the hero, who finally gets hold of it, forms the crux. Since action is Jayanth’s forte, he says he took the liberty to include nine stunt blocks in different styles, which includes a fight with a tiger in the movie.
