Karthika Nair is back with a strong role
Karthika Nair, who was previously seen in director SP Jananathan’s Purampokku Engira Podhuvudaimai, stayed away from the spotlight for a year. Later, she signed a project, which is expected to be made in multiple languages. The film went on floors in February. Speaking to DC, Karthika Nair discloses, “Last year, I received the offer to act in this untitled film and I couldn’t be happier. I play a strong, powerful and spirited lady in this film, which is about women empowerment. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to reveal anything about the cast and crew right now. The official announcement will be out by the end of April or in May first week.”
The Annakodi actress had to attend workshops to get into the skin of the character. “Usually, I don’t attend workshops or any classes for my films, but I wanted to add authenticity to the role I’m playing, so I trained for the film. It was physically taxing, but I am sure it would be a highlight in my career. When you get to know who the story writer of the movie is (post the announcement), you will be extremely surprised,” she asserts.
Karthika shares that the characters that she has portrayed so far in her career have always been significant to the story. “I’ve been lucky that way. I don’t choose roles that are just there in the films. Like all my films, I believe this new project will show me in a different dimension,” she concludes.
