The entire movie is shot in the forest areas and it was tough to shoot in the rough terrain with changing climatic conditions. Cinematographer Santhakumar has composed his shots with the available natural lights.”

Heaping praise on Amala Paul, he said. “Even as we narrated the script she knew she had to perform several physically challenging stunts. We were okay with some of them like riding a bike and few chasings scenes. For the other risky stunts, I suggested a body-double. But a gritty actress that she is, she insisted that she would do the action blocks like climbing down 80 feet high trees (in a single shot), drowning through a dirty swamp and several long chase sequences. Her involvement was top notch, took every challenge in the spirit, performing them with no hassle. Thanks to action choreographer Supreme Sundar who has given great action sequences.”

On Adho Andha Paravai Pole title, which is the first line of famous MGR song, he says, “It is directly related to the story.

If you had noticed the entire song has been placed in legendary MGR’s film in the context of ‘freedom’ or ‘liberty’. Here also it denotes the same thing.” Ashish Vidyarthi plays a key character, a native of the ghats and working at a lower cadre with the forest department.
