Vaibhav plays a policeman in Taana
Selvaraghavan’s former assistant Yuvaraj Subramani is all set to make his debut as an independent filmmaker with a supernatural comedy titled Taana.
Talking about the film, which has Vaibhav and Nanditha in the lead, Yuvaraj says, “A supernatural comedy combines supernatural elements with amusing twists.
Films like Ghajini and Naan Sigappu Manithan had those elements, but they were action films. Here, Vaibhav, who plays a policeman, suffers from a supernatural problem, the consequences of which are depicted in a comic manner. The story inspired by real-life incidents is set in a town where people worship policemen as their guardian deities.” He’s quick to add, “Don’t imagine Vaibhav as the sirippu police you come across in every other comedy film; he is not. And Nanditha plays a simple girl who works as a lab technician”
Explaining the title of his film, Yuvaraj says, “Taana is the colloquial Tamil word for a policeman.”
Music for the film has been composed by Vishal Chandrashekar, and Shiva is the cinematographer.
