Filmmaking is my first love: Suseenthiran

Happy with the positive responses he received for his performance, he presented a gold chain to director Ramprakash Rayappa.

Director Suseenthiran who took the avatar of an actor recently with Suttu Pidikka Utharavu speaks about his experiences essaying a role which demanded a high degree of physical work. Happy with the positive responses he received for his performance, he presented a gold chain to director Ramprakash Rayappa.

Talking to DC, he said, “Ram finalised Mysshkin and Vikranth initially. Then he approached me through Vikranth. Though I was reluctant initially, within 10 minutes of narration, I was drawn into the script as my role was not the run of the mill type. I felt I should definitely give a try and gave my nod.”

Being a filmmaker, did you improvise during shooting, we ask.”No, I just did whatever Ramprakash said. The only thing which I found very tough was that my character of Selva has to run throughout the film. I had less dialogues and more action and it was bit strenuous.”

Will we get to see him more often on screen? “I am yet to touch peak in direction. My first love is direction. Acting comes next. If I get exceptional characters, even if it is ten minutes role, I wouldn’t mind.”

Susee is gearing up with three films — Kennedy Club, Angelina and Champion. “Angelina is a thriller meant for the youth of today, which has a contemporary subject. It imparts a larger message of how women should be bold and face the world without fear. It touches Pollachi issue also.”

The director says he is not keen on sequels. “I am not for sequels. Unless I write the script in two parts right in the beginning like Baahubali, it won’t work out.”
